Rep. Elise Stefanik, who represents New York’s 21st district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed several political issues on her social media account, focusing on border security, public broadcasting funding, and subway safety.
On July 15, 2025, Stefanik wrote about ongoing concerns regarding border security: “For years in Congress, I have been sounding the alarm on the Swanton Sector of our Northern Border national security crisis due to Joe Biden and Kathy Hochul’s open border policies.
Thankfully, for the past six months, I have worked with President Trump to successfully secure”.
The following day, she criticized local NPR affiliates and called for a change in federal funding: “As the local NPR affiliates hyperventilate with Democrat talking points, it is long past time to…
DEFUND NPR!
Let’s get it done once and for all!” (July 16, 2025).
Later that same day, Stefanik commented on New York Democrats’ record regarding subway safety by commending another official’s actions: “Great job by @SecDuffy exposing the horrific record of NY Democrats when it comes to subway safety.” (July 16, 2025).
Stefanik has served as a member of Congress since 2015 after replacing Bill Owens. She was born in Albany in 1984 and currently resides in Schuylerville. She holds an AB from Harvard University.
