Rep. Elise Stefanik, a member of the U.S. Congress representing New York’s 21st district since 2015, shared insights on various issues through her recent social media posts. Stefanik addressed challenges faced by correctional officers, celebrated the U.S. Army’s milestone anniversary, and commemorated Flag Day.
On June 13, 2025, Stefanik emphasized her commitment to supporting correctional officers at FCI Ray Brook amidst staffing and retention challenges. She stated, “As the Representative of FCI Ray Brook, I am working to address the significant challenges that our hardworking correctional officers are facing such as low staffing and retention issues.” She further expressed her dedication to addressing these concerns given the risks COs encounter daily.
The following day, on June 14, 2025, she marked the U.S. Army’s 250th birthday with a celebratory message. She tweeted “Happy 250th Birthday, @USArmy! From underdogs defeating King George III’s British forces at Saratoga to becoming the most powerful military on Earth…” highlighting their historical significance and contributions.
Also on June 14th, Stefanik recognized Flag Day by reflecting on its historical roots and symbolism. Her tweet read: “Happy Flag Day! On June 14, 1777, the Continental Congress officially adopted the Stars and Stripes as the flag of our new nation…” underscoring its role as a symbol of American patriotism over centuries.
Elise Stefanik was born in Albany in 1984 and currently resides in Schuylerville. A Harvard University graduate with an AB degree, she succeeded Bill Owens in Congress in 2015.
