Elise Stefanik, who represents New York’s 21st district in the U.S. Congress and serves as House Republican Leadership Chair, recently shared a series of posts on her official Twitter account addressing legislative achievements, ethics in stock trading by members of Congress, and ongoing efforts to address political weaponization.
On December 2, 2025, Stefanik publicly thanked Secretary Howard Lutnick for his collaboration on a significant legislative accomplishment for New York. She wrote: “Thank you to my friend Secretary @howardlutnick for your leadership on this issue as we lead the legislative and appropriations part in Congress of this HUGE result for NY!

Later that day, Stefanik addressed ethical concerns regarding financial activities by members of Congress. In her post dated December 2, 2025, she stated: “Throughout my entire 11 years in Congress, I have never purchased or traded a single individual stock because I believe it is unethical.
Meanwhile, we have seen Members of Congress in both parties abuse their position in elected office by making millions on stock trades – no one”.
In another post from December 2, 2025, Stefanik highlighted support from Rep. Byron Donalds concerning efforts to close what she referred to as the “Comey loophole.” She quoted Donalds: “WATCH @ByronDonalds on closing the Comey loophole that led to the greatest illegal political weaponization in history:
“I support [Elise Stefanik’s] position. That provision should be in the bill. We shouldn’t be concerned what Democrats have to say about this matter because https://t.co/eiKQdjcrjR“.
Elise Stefanik has served as the representative for New York’s 21st district since replacing Bill Owens in 2015 and is currently based in Schuylerville. Born in Albany in 1984 and now aged 38, she is an alumna of Harvard University with an AB degree.
