Rep. Elise Stefanik, a U.S. Congresswoman representing New York’s 21st district since 2015, used her social media platform on December 16, 2025, to address issues concerning Medicaid funding, rural hospitals, and state affordability under Governor Kathy Hochul’s administration.

In a post made at 13:52 UTC, Stefanik stated: “I’m calling on @TheJusticeDept to investigate what appears to be the calculated and politicized mismanagement of New Yorkers’ Medicaid funding and tax dollars under @KathyHochul’s failed leadership. Her willful incompetence now leaves rural hospitals on the brink of closure just”.

Elise Stefanik has served as a member of Congress since replacing Bill Owens in 2015. She was born in Albany in 1984 and currently resides in Schuylerville. Stefanik graduated from Harvard University with an AB degree.
