Rep. Elise Stefanik, who has represented New York’s 21st district in the U.S. Congress since 2015, posted a series of statements on social media addressing issues ranging from state bail reform to agriculture and political investigations.
On August 1, 2025, Stefanik criticized state leaders in a post stating, “Kathy Hochul and New York Democrats failed bail reform is dangerously, unethical, and morally repugnant.”
The following day, Stefanik highlighted the significance of agriculture in her district by encouraging residents to support local businesses: “New York is a dairy powerhouse state & in NY-21, agriculture is the backbone of the economy. This summer, check out some of the amazing local ice cream shops (almost all family small businesses) ranked by @newyorkupstate! (they’re missing a few faves)” The post referenced local ice cream shops as key contributors to the region’s economy.
Later on August 2, Stefanik commented on ongoing legal and political controversies involving former President Trump and his associates: “The illegal weaponization and abuse of power knows no bounds. In addition to the biggest bombshell corruption & cover up of all time (the faux Russia collusion hoax), the insane lawfare against not only President Trump, but also his closest aides needs to be investigated,”
Stefanik was born in Albany, New York in 1984 and currently resides in Schuylerville. She graduated from Harvard University with an AB degree. Since replacing Bill Owens in Congress in 2015, she has become known for her outspoken positions on state and national issues.
