Rep. Elise Stefanik, a U.S. Congresswoman representing New York’s 21st district since 2015, has recently addressed several state issues through her social media posts.

On August 5, 2025, Stefanik criticized Governor Kathy Hochul regarding the redrawing of congressional districts. She stated, “The Worst Governor in America @GovKathyHochul is going to waste taxpayer dollars by losing a THIRD court case if she foolishly continues her quest to illegally draw Congressional lines in a thirst for political power.”

The following day, on August 6, 2025, Stefanik commented on ongoing environmental concerns affecting New York. She wrote, “New York is facing another summer of significant air quality issues due to smoke from Canadian wildfires. State officials have advised residents to limit outdoor activity. Schools, camps, and events have been impacted. The scale and severity of these fires continues to raise”.

Later that same day, Stefanik voiced support for an investigation into health incidents at a correctional facility: “I stand with @NYSCOPBAPR in calling for a full investigation into the illness of staff at the Clinton Correctional Facility. Correctional staff members must be able to work in an environment free from exposure to unidentified substances.”

Elise Stefanik was born in Albany, New York in 1984 and currently resides in Schuylerville. She graduated from Harvard University with an AB degree and succeeded Bill Owens as representative for New York’s 21st district.
