Rep. Elise Stefanik, a U.S. Congresswoman representing New York’s 21st district since 2015, posted several statements on July 21, 2025, addressing state and local government spending as well as federal funding for emergency services.
In her first post of the day, Stefanik criticized New York Governor Kathy Hochul’s immigration and budget policies: “First, @KathyHochul cemented New York’s status as a dangerous Sanctuary State. Then, she doubled down, spending billions of your hard earned tax dollars to pay for illegals aliens.” (July 21, 2025).
Later that afternoon, Stefanik addressed budget increases under Governor Hochul: “It’s basic math. The Worst Governor in America @KathyHochul increased bloated budgets by almost $34 billion. Now she wants to blame President @realDonaldTrump for her massive mismanagement. Voters are smart, New Yorkers aren’t buying the bogus claim Kathy Hochul is selling.” (July 21, 2025).
That evening, Stefanik highlighted her involvement in securing federal support for local emergency services: “Today, I joined Montgomery County Sheriff Jeff Smith, County Executive Pete Vroman, and County Legislators to deliver over $1.5 million in federal funding for the EMS facility in Montgomery County. I have worked closely with #NY21 County Sheriffs and first responders for the” (July 21, 2025).
Elise Stefanik has served as the representative for New York’s 21st congressional district since replacing Bill Owens in 2015 and is known for her active engagement with both national policy debates and local issues affecting her constituents. Born in Albany in 1984 and currently residing in Schuylerville at age 38, Stefanik graduated from Harvard University with an AB degree.
