Rep. Elise Stefanik, a U.S. Congresswoman representing New York’s 21st district since 2015, addressed several issues concerning New York in a series of tweets posted on July 29, 2025.
In her first post, Stefanik commented on a recent tragedy in Manhattan: “New Yorkers all across our state mourn the horrific loss of five individuals, including the brave NYPD hero who ran into the rampage to save people’s lives from the violent, murderous criminal in Midtown Manhattan. It is a reminder to every New Yorker and American that our” (July 29, 2025).
Later that day, she referenced New York Governor Kathy Hochul and criticized another public figure: “Flashback: Kathy Hochul’s very own Commie Mamdani A disgrace. And truly unfit to be the Mayor of NYC https://t.co/cRwvr96JfI” (July 29, 2025).
Stefanik also voiced opposition to a recent policy decision by Governor Hochul regarding energy use in New York: “New York’s gas stove ban is an insanely damaging policy that will crush small businesses, hardworking families, home builders, & more. It is a war on energy wielded by @GovKathyHochul the Worst Governor in America.” (July 29, 2025).
Elise Stefanik was born in Albany, New York in 1984 and currently resides in Schuylerville. She graduated from Harvard University with an AB degree. She succeeded Bill Owens as representative for New York’s 21st district.
