Rep. Elise Stefanik, who represents New York’s 21st district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on September 4, 2025, addressing state policy issues and university leadership changes.
In a post published at 17:20 UTC, Stefanik criticized state governance under Governor Kathy Hochul: “Albany’s high taxes and red tape under Hochul are crushing New York families and their small businesses. Republicans are delivering relief by actually CUTTING TAXES, empowering entrepreneurs, and fighting for affordable living in every corner of #NY21 and the North Country. New”.

At 18:10 UTC on the same day, she addressed corrections policy in New York State: “Enough is enough. Hochul’s reckless decision to close prisons last year threw thousands of law enforcement families into chaos and put public safety at risk.

Elise Stefanik has represented New York’s 21st District since 2015 after succeeding Bill Owens. She was born in Albany in 1984 and resides in Schuylerville. Stefanik holds an AB degree from Harvard University.
