Rep. Elise Stefanik, U.S. Congresswoman representing New York’s 21st district since 2015, recently addressed educational and athletic issues relevant to her constituency in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter).

On February 4, 2026, Stefanik highlighted the importance of charter schools in expanding educational opportunities. She wrote, “Charter schools like Success Academy are absolutely imperative to increasing educational opportunity and achievement. We need MORE charter schools, not fewer. ‘A wait list in New York City runs to 163,000 students, yet lawmakers have placed an arbitrary limit on the number of”.

Two days later, on February 6, 2026, Stefanik turned her attention to sports and local heritage by emphasizing the significance of the Olympics for her district: “The Olympics are incredibly meaningful to #NY21 due to the incredible history and community of Lake Placid. As Co-Chair of the bipartisan Congressional Olympic and Paralympic Caucus, I’m proud to work with my colleagues to advocate for our great American athletes who honor our”. Later that day she posted a brief message referencing her district: “#NY21 ! https://t.co/HyhK0jhX3r”.

Born in Albany in 1984 and currently residing in Schuylerville, Stefanik graduated from Harvard University with an AB degree.
