Rep. Elise Stefanik, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing New York’s 21st district, has been vocal on social media about recent events and political issues. Born in Albany, New York, Stefanik graduated from Harvard University and began her congressional service in 2015.
On June 18, 2025, Rep. Stefanik invited her followers to “Tune in to 77 WABC at 5 PM.” She announced her appearance on the show @Catsandcosby.
The following day, June 19, she criticized New York Governor Kathy Hochul for allegedly protecting undocumented immigrants from deportation. She stated that “Kathy Hochul is protecting illegals from deportation,” citing an incident involving John A. Sarcone III, a U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of New York appointed by former President Donald Trump. According to Stefanik’s tweet, Sarcone was “chased by an illegal armed with a knife in Albany.” She encouraged followers to listen to her interview through a provided link here.
Later that day, she commented on a protest held in Times Square where crowds expressed support for the Iranian regime with chants like “Iran makes us proud! Burn Tel Aviv to the ground!” In her tweet she noted the significance of such protests occurring “in the city with the largest population of Jews outside of Israel.”
Elise Stefanik has served as a member of Congress since replacing Bill Owens in 2015 and resides in Schuylerville.
