Representative Elise Stefanik, who has served in the U.S. Congress representing New York’s 21st District since 2015, highlighted recent legislative actions and longstanding positions through a series of posts on July 18, 2025.

In her first post of the day, Stefanik announced: “Representative Elise Stefanik advanced sweeping military investments this week, moving the NDAA for Fiscal Year 2026 through the House Armed Services Committee with targeted gains for Fort Drum, Rome Labs, and Upstate New York.” (July 18, 2025)

Later that afternoon, she referenced efforts to reduce federal spending and fulfill campaign promises: “Today I voted to save the American taxpayer $9 billion of unobligated bloated spending via a rescissions package including defunding NPR, a promise I vowed to deliver to #NY21. Promises made, promises kept. The bill will now go to President Trump’s desk, fulfilling his mandate” (July 18, 2025).

In an additional post that evening, Stefanik reiterated her previous criticism regarding investigations into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election: “FLASHBACK: As I said YEARS AGO, the Russia hoax went ‘straight to the top’ with the manufactured 2016 Russian election interference hoax falsely casting @realDonaldTrump as a Russian asset.” (July 18, 2025).

Elise Stefanik was born in Albany in 1984 and currently resides in Schuylerville. She graduated from Harvard University with an AB degree. Since succeeding Bill Owens in Congress in 2015, she has consistently represented her district’s interests at both local and national levels.
