Rep. Elise Stefanik, U.S. Congresswoman representing New York’s 21st District since 2015, recently highlighted her legislative activities on social media, focusing on support for independent workers, national security, and gun rights.
On July 23, 2025, Stefanik stated: “I will always support and help hardworking Americans. That is why I worked to pass two key bills through the @EdWorkforceCmte with @RepKiley to establish clear definitions and standards to protect independent workers. The legislation will help millions of Americans who choose”. The post references her efforts alongside Rep. Kevin Kiley in the House Education and Workforce Committee.
Later that day, she addressed national security concerns by posting: “Today, I introduced two bills to strengthen our national security, increase transparency and protect American investors from the growing threat of the capabilities of our adversaries, such as the Chinese Communist Party.” This message underscores her legislative response to perceived risks posed by foreign entities.
On July 24, 2025, Stefanik turned attention to gun legislation: “Today I am proud to reintroduce the Modern Firearm Safety Act with @repdarrellissa to end NY Democrats’ unconstitutional gun-grabbing agenda. This legislation would ban NY Democrats from imposing illegal handgun roster requirements meant to deter legal gun ownership. I will”. Here she criticized state-level regulations on handguns and described them as unconstitutional.
Stefanik has represented New York’s 21st district since replacing Bill Owens in 2015. She was born in Albany in 1984 and resides in Schuylerville. A Harvard University graduate with an AB degree, Stefanik has made issues like workforce protections and firearm policy central themes during her tenure in Congress.
