Rep. Elise Stefanik, currently serving in the U.S. Congress and representing New York’s 21st district, recently took to social media to express her concerns and share upcoming media appearances. Her tweets cover a range of topics from financial scrutiny of academic institutions to television interviews.
On June 17, 2025, Stefanik announced via Twitter that she had asked the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to review Harvard University’s recent bond offerings. She expressed significant concerns about whether Harvard “potentially withheld material information from bondholders prior to its initial offering.” As a tax-exempt institution with considerable influence over public policy and academic standards, Stefanik underscored the importance of transparency in such financial matters. “Today I asked @SECGov to review @Harvard’s recent bond offerings. I have deep concerns that Harvard potentially withheld material information from bondholders prior to its initial offering.”
The following day, on June 18, 2025, Stefanik informed her followers of an upcoming appearance on Newsmax at 10:00 AM with hosts Emma Rechenberg and Shaun Kraisman. This announcement was part of her ongoing engagement with media outlets. “Tune in to @Newsmax at 10:00 AM. I’ll be joining @EmmaRechenberg and @ShaunKraisman “
Later on the same day, she reiterated her scheduled appearance on Newsmax through another tweet as she prepared to join the broadcast shortly thereafter. “Tune in to @Newsmax. I’ll be joining @EmmaRechenberg and @ShaunKraisman shortly!”
Elise Stefanik has served in Congress since 2015 after replacing Bill Owens. She was born in Albany, New York in 1984 and graduated from Harvard University with an AB degree.
