Saratoga, N.Y. – House Republican Leadership Chairwoman Elise Stefanik released a statement concerning the arrest of five Iranian nationals in Champlain, New York. Stefanik expressed her ongoing concerns about national security at the Northern Border and criticized the current administration’s policies.

“In Congress, I have been sounding the alarm on the Swanton Sector of our Northern Border national security crisis due to Joe Biden and Kathy Hochul’s open border policies,” she stated. She emphasized her collaboration with former President Trump over the past six months to enhance border security.

Stefanik also acknowledged local law enforcement efforts, saying, “We are especially grateful for the hardworking border and law enforcement officials from Champlain, NY who protected our national security with the arrest of five Iranians and two Uzbeks in Mooers Forks, #NY21.” She highlighted the significance of increased border officials as part of recent legislative efforts.
