Today, House Republican Leadership Chairwoman Elise Stefanik issued a statement concerning an incident involving U.S. Attorney John A. Sarcone III in Albany. According to the Times Union, Sarcone was “confronted and chased” by an individual described as an illegal alien wielding a knife.

Stefanik criticized New York Governor Kathy Hochul’s policies, stating, “In Kathy Hochul’s New York, nobody is safe, not even President Trump’s U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of NY John A. Sarcone III.” She further commented on executive orders signed by Hochul, saying, “Three separate times, Hochul signed executive orders to protect violent illegal aliens from deportation. Kathy Hochul puts illegals first and New Yorkers last.”

Stefanik concluded her statement with a call for leadership change: “We desperately need a governor who puts New Yorkers first and restores law and order to our streets.”
