Saratoga, N.Y. – House Republican Leadership Chairwoman Elise Stefanik appeared on the Mark Levin Show on Fox News to discuss New York Governor Kathy Hochul’s policies and their impact on the state’s affordability crisis. Stefanik criticized what she described as “Commie” Mamdani’s influence within the New York Democrat Party.
Stefanik highlighted her concerns about New York’s economic challenges under Democratic leadership. She stated, “We’re the highest taxed state in the nation with the most onerous regulations.” According to Stefanik, these issues are driving residents out of New York.
She expressed skepticism about Mamdani’s proposals, which she believes will hinder economic opportunities for New Yorkers. Stefanik accused Governor Hochul of embracing radical policies and failing to condemn them. “This is not where New Yorkers stand,” she said.
Stefanik also commented on recent developments in Pennsylvania, noting significant investments from energy and AI companies there, contrasting it with New York’s ban on natural gas fracking.
Regarding Hochul’s leadership, Stefanik remarked that Hochul called herself the “Therapist-in-Chief” but argued that strong policies and moral leadership are needed instead. She attributed Mamdani’s rise to what she sees as Hochul’s failed leadership and criticized both Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer for not condemning Mamdani’s statements during his campaign.
Stefanik asserted that Mamdani lost support among working-class voters in a recent primary due to his Communist proposals, which she claimed would harm hard-working families. She raised concerns about public safety under Mamdani’s policies related to police funding.
