FULTONVILLE, NY – House Republican Leadership Chairwoman Elise Stefanik marked the beginning of construction for the Montgomery County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Division Facility alongside local officials and first responders.
Stefanik stated, “As the proud representative of NY21, I was honored to help deliver over $1.5 million in federal funding to make this long-overdue EMS facility a reality in Montgomery County.” She added that the groundbreaking signifies a significant investment in public safety and support for first responders.
Montgomery County Sheriff Jeffery T. Smith acknowledged the impact of the new facility and equipment made possible by a $1.575 million grant from Congresswoman Stefanik. He expressed gratitude for her consistent advocacy, saying it ensures better preparedness to serve county residents.
The funding for the project, totaling $1,575,000, was secured through the Fiscal Year 2024 Appropriations Package and provided via the U.S. Department of Agriculture as part of Stefanik’s Community Project Funding Requests.
The facility aims to enhance emergency response across Montgomery County by offering a centralized hub for EMS operations. The event saw attendance from local leaders including Sheriff Jeffery Smith and County Executive Pete Vroman.
