Preventing tick bites is the best way to avoid developing tick borne illnesses. After spending time outdoors in wooded areas, use a mirror or ask a partner to help you check for ticks in areas on your body that you can’t see very well. The common bite areas are: back of the knee, groin, under the arms, under the breasts, behind the ears, and at the back of the neck.
Ticks have to be attached to for hours to effectively transmit enough bacteria to give you a disease. BLAST through the rest of tick borne disease season!
