Dear Staff:Thank you for your amazing efforts to support students and the community during these difficult times. BCSD continues to provide the highest quality of digital and video learning for our students. Our previous efforts in providing a progressive and innovative learning environment has served us well during these difficult weeks and maybe the months ahead.
Below is information on our schedules for faculty, 10-month and 12-month support staff. As you know, the Governor’s Executive Orders closed school buildings for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year and mandated that we work through our previously scheduled April break. The Executive Order also mandated that we provide digital teaching and learning, day care and meals for our students. We did this and did it well during a State of Emergency. Awesome job! Based on this information, we are making the following adjustments to our school calendar:
1. As the Governor ordered, faculty and students will not be returning to campus this school year. Instruction will continue through the end of the school year. Essential staff will be working as they have been since the original closure in March.
2. The last day of instruction for the current school year will be Tuesday, June 16, 2020. This accounts for working through April break, unused snow day and May 22.
3. There will not be remote/digital teaching and learning on Monday, May 25 as we will celebrate Memorial Day.
4. Meal deliveries will be on May 20, May 28, June 3, June 10, and June 17.
5. PreK-8 students will have a ½ day of education on Monday, June 15, 2020.
6. 12-month employees will not be working on June 19, June 22 and June 29.
7. BCSD students will graduate on June 26, 2020
Please keep in mind that we remain in a fluid situation. Any new Executive Orders will need to be followed.
Thank you again for your dedication to our students and supporting the community in new and innovative ways. I know virtually everyone is thankful and proud of our efforts. Hopefully, we will return to school when we can see each other and celebrate our successes. Until then, stay safe and thank you.
Sincerely, Daniel W. Mannix
